Just putting up some newer work I haven't posted here before ( I usually post more frequently on my stall's facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ethelshrugs

A Re-do of an older picture, I wasn't quite happy with the colours before, I wanted to make it a little more pulp-ey.

Inspired by Al Columbia & creepy masquerade masks.

Catherine fan art, I never would have thought a game about block puzzles could be so nightmarish, heh.

Fan art for the game 'Dark Souls', an incredibly obscure character called 'Maneater Mildred', I kind of did a redesign to match her to the Butcher characters.

Felt like doing something a bit 1920s.

I noticed lately I've been focusing on trying to paint better using photoshop brushes and kinda neglected my usual method of using textures made from scanned ink and stuff like that, so I made up a bunch of new ink messes to use on this one, which was pretty fun.

Arty party

An entry for this group exhibition at the 'Create collective' gallery in Gosford where the artists all used the same postcard size canvas to do whatever they want with. I was trying to paint something a bit like an Aghori, these insane Indian monks who practice cannibalism and a ton of other incredibly ghastly things: [Link]

It's acrylic paint on torn up coffee stained paper and a bit of editing on Photoshop.

Google Exhibition

My Entry for the 2012 Google exhibition, we were given a phrase to google and had to pick one of the results on the first page to use as inspiration. Mine was a report on this insecticide called 'Tebufenozide' which causes premature molting in moth larvae.

Done in acrylics on illustration board.

Sydney Supanova 2012

God, I look so smug.

Supanova is this comic, anime and sci-fi convention in Australia, there aren't many similar conventions like it here so it's pretty huge in Sydney. We had an artist alley table there again this year which went pretty well.
We met to a ton of lovely people at our stall, some even remembered us from last year which was pretty nice to hear. Plus I saw a a baby covered in hair which was pretty good.

If anyone's interested I have a ton of stuff left over I'll be selling online at my etsy store in the next couple of days: www.etsy.com/shop/Nastynoser

Muertos

Trying to get one last card design in for our stall at Sydney Supanova. Really love the style of Dia de los muertos, this guy isn't nearly cheerful enough for the occasion.

Scurvy

A new design for some posters I'm getting done, was in the mood for drawing some filthy sailors. I drew and rendered it in ink and did the colours on Photoshop. I might continue working on the original in traditional media sometime though.

Will be selling this and some other things at our stall at the Sydney Supanova:

Fun with super sculpey

I had a go at making a little Nosferatu figure as a present for a friend, this is probably about my fourth attempt at making a figure out of polymer clay.

He's made with super sculpey on a wire armature and painted with acrylics, roughly 10" tall.

This is before he had his paint job, burnt hands and all.

Sydney Supanova

A couple of friends and I had a table in the artists alley recently for this big comic convention that's on every year around here. We've sold at a few markets before but this was by far the most overwhelming, apparently it had the highest attendance it has ever had this year.

I designed some necklaces and hair clips, they went really well, especially the little hangman.

Some postcards. God, I get so sick of looking at some of this stuff sometimes.

Our messy pig pen of a stall, we re-arranged everything the next day which seemed to have a much better reception from the crowd.

Anyway, It wasn't a bad way to spend the weekend, we met heaps of nice people, plus saw some pretty bizarre costumes. We're already planning for next year, heh.

If anyone's interested, I'm selling the remaining stuff from my online store
